About The Position

The Sherwood Companies have a proven track record of completing a variety of projects from General Construction, to Construction Management and Design Build Projects for both public and private owners. A brief summary of the types of projects include, urban expressways, bridges, underground utilities, dam construction, asphalt/concrete paving and water/wastewater treatment plants. The employee will be responsible for the safe operation of a distributor truck to place asphalt bonding agents. The incumbent will need to operate in a safe and efficient manner following all personal protective equipment (PPE) and process requirements. This role is classified as safety sensitive. Travel may be required.

Requirements

• Must have a clean driving record
• High School Diploma or GED required
• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Must currently possess or be willing to acquire Class B CDL and Tanker Endorsement
• Repairing and troubleshooting
• Equipment maintenance
• Manual dexterity
• Near/Far Vision
• Mechanical knowledge of vehicle
• Ability to read effectively from a computer screen and/or a paper copy
• Ability to handle a large volume of work and perform multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to effectively verbally communicate
• Ability to stand, sit, stoop, bend, walk and lift heavy objects (50 lbs)

Responsibilities

• Operation of distributor truck in accordance with state and federal laws
• Loading, securing and unloading trailer
• Maintain records, logs and inspections reports
• Report appropriate information regarding incidents and jobsites
• Perform ODOT pre and post trip inspections daily
• Perform the task of spraying asphalt bonding agents, prime oil, etc.
• Perform cleanings after each material application
• Other duties as assigned
