About The Position

The Distribution Technician inventories and dispatches supplies and minor movable patient care equipment. The role replenishes and restocks unit supply carts and SPD shelves, fulfills departmental requisitions accurately and promptly, documents transactions, reports low inventory or outages, and removes outdated or soon-to-expire sterile supplies according to departmental policies.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• No experience required.

Responsibilities

• Inventory and replenish supplies.
• Inventory and restock unit supply carts in accordance with department policies and procedures.
• Assist with restocking SPD shelves daily.
• Dispatch supplies and minor movable patient care equipment.
• Deliver STAT items immediately upon receipt of a request.
• Fill requisitions for supplies and minor movable equipment for requesting departments in a timely manner and accurately.
• Make postings on requisition sheets.
• Document complete and accurate transactions, including requests and credits, in a timely manner.
• Immediately notify the Inventory Control Specialist of low on-hand quantities or outages.
• Remove outdated sterile supplies and return them to SPD for appropriate disposition.
• Check expiration dates of sterile supplies on PAR carts and remove items approaching expiration according to departmental policy.
