About The Position

The Distribution Technician I works in West Palm Beach and must meet all qualifications of a Distribution Technician II, in addition to the qualifications listed in the posting. The role involves gas distribution system work, including corrosion control, joining plastic piping, and potentially operating and performing minor maintenance on trenchers, backhoes, and boring equipment. The position participates in an on-call duty rotation and requires passing the applicable Training Grid requirements.

Requirements

• Meet all qualifications of a Distribution Technician II.
• Have worked as a Distribution Technician II for 36 months or have equivalent experience.
• Successfully complete the applicable corrosion control course.
• Be qualified to make plastic fused and mechanical joints.
• Be familiar with applicable federal, state, and local rules and regulations.
• Be familiar with the provisions and applications of NFPA 54, NFPA 58, the Florida Building Fuel Gas Code, and any state-required gas code.
• Be familiar with the operation and maintenance requirements of the gas distribution system.
• Be able to pass the requirements outlined in the Training Grid associated with the position.

Responsibilities

• Operate and perform minor maintenance on trenchers, backhoes, and boring equipment if and when they become available.
• Participate in the on-call duty rotation.
• Meet the requirements outlined in the Training Grid associated with the position.
