Airgas is Hiring for a Distribution Supervisor in San Luis Obispo, CA! We are looking for you! The role of the Distribution Supervisor is to handle all trucking and distribution functions for the specific location. Supervises and coordinates activities of all dispatchers, drivers, field service personnel and truck maintenance. Coordinates and supports all Class A and Class B licensed personnel. Works with the regional safety officer to coordinate the procedures required for compliance with OSHA, DOT, EPA, FDA, and state and local regulations. Develops, implements and refines, as needed, standard operational practices. Responsible for all truck and forklift maintenance. Maintaining all drivers files and maintenance records in accordance with federal/state regulations. Partners with the team to ensure all accidents and/or injuries are reported within 24 hours and properly investigated. Comply with all Airgas safety rules and company policies. Works closely with internal customers to ensure customer needs are met in a timely manner. Support Inside Sales team with SAP order entry as needed. Support branch manager delegation of duties in Workday as needed. Represents company in response to traffic violations; guides accident reporting and resolution for fleet. Operate forklift and safely load / unload compressed gas and liquid cylinders to and from delivery vehicles. Inspect cylinders prior to filling, using standard operating procedures. Remove and replace labels. Fill cylinders or containers to proper pressure or weight, whichever is appropriate. Ensure cylinder filling records are accurately maintained and that all required procedures are followed in order to comply with local, state and federal regulations. Facilitates daily safety meetings. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High school degree or the equivalent preferred, with two to three years related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience with SAP is preferred.
  • At least two years’ experience working in a distribution, logistics environment.
  • Proficiency in Google Suite.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to work independently and under pressure to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to perform very heavy work – routinely lifts 25 – 75 lbs., occasionally lift 76 to greater than 100 lbs.
  • Ability to perform work during prolonged standing up to 8 hours; Frequent bending, stooping, crouching, reaching, grasping, feeling and repetitive motion also required.
  • Ability to perform work during occasional climbing, balancing, kneeling, crawling, pushing, pulling and finger activities.
  • Ability to read and comprehend load sheets and materiel safety data sheets (MSDS).
  • Must be able to safely drive a forklift.
  • Must be able to work occasional overtime, if necessary.
  • Must be able to work outdoors in temperatures ranging from -10 to over 110 degrees.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with SAP is preferred.
