About The Position

The Distribution Specialist accurately and promptly fulfills customer orders from Memorial Hermann’s Consolidated Service Center (CSC) for acute care hospitals and other entities. The role uses a warehouse management system (WMS), material handling equipment (MHE), radio frequency (RF) units, ring scanners, voice-picking units, and autonomous mobile robots (AMRs) to pick, sort, and prepare orders for shipment. The specialist works with Customer Service, Logistics, and Transportation to follow up on and resolve shipment issues. The position typically reports to the Order Fulfillment Manager.

Requirements

One year of order fulfillment experience required.
Prior experience successfully operating and maintaining forklifts, pallet jacks, reach trucks, and other electric material handling equipment.
Excellent organizational and time management skills.

Nice To Haves

High school diploma or GED preferred.
Material Handling Equipment (MHE) certification preferred.

Responsibilities

Accurately pick multiple customer orders using the warehouse management system, robotics, and/or material handling equipment.
Sort totes, cases, cardboard boxes, and shipping containers by scanning, retrieving, and placing orders on pallets.
Use material handling equipment to move outbound customer orders to the shipping dock.
Perform order induction activities for low-unit-of-measure robotic picking activities.
Resolve order errors before shipment.
Prepare and shrink-wrap pallets and load them onto delivery trucks for shipment.
Follow and enforce safety rules to maintain a safe working environment.
Provide safe, caring, personalized, and efficient experiences for patients and colleagues, in keeping with Memorial Hermann’s service standards.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Work overtime and/or weekends when required.
