About The Position

The Distribution / Shipping Clerk picks, packs, and ships customer orders according to established guidelines, procedures, and policies. The role supports training and cross-training, maintains positive customer relationships, communicates potential shortages and backorders, and complies with quality and safety requirements. The clerk also participates in 6S and process-improvement programs, seeks guidance when needed, and uses good judgment to investigate and resolve problems. This is an entry-level position with a stated schedule of Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM to 5:30 PM, and base pay of $16 per hour. The work is performed in a well-lighted, climate-controlled warehouse with adequate ventilation. It involves moderate physical activity, including lifting up to 60 pounds and carrying up to 40 pounds, as well as bending, pushing and pulling, climbing, prolonged standing, and manual dexterity.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Written and oral English communication skills sufficient to speak clearly and distinctly and read in English.
Detail-oriented and organized, with good analytical, verbal, and written communication skills.
Able to perform expanded basic arithmetic calculations.
Able to apply common-sense understanding to carry out detailed written and oral instructions.
Able to lift up to 60 pounds and carry up to 40 pounds.
Able to perform moderate lifting, carrying, bending, pushing and pulling, climbing, and prolonged standing.
Manual dexterity sufficient to reach and handle items, work with fingers, and perceive attributes of objects and materials.
Ability to judge distance and spatial relationships, including visualizing objects of multiple dimensions.

Nice To Haves

Minimum of one year of inventory control or shipping/receiving experience is preferred.
Computer skills are preferred, including SAP – Processweaver, FedEx Manager, and Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
