About The Position

The Distribution Quality Inspector is a critical and autonomous role responsible for executing the expanded Quality Management System (QMS) strategy within the logistics center. Utilizing a High-Level of Attention to Detail and ERP Proficiency (Business Central), this role guarantees a high Perfect Order Rate (POR) by strictly enforcing the First Expired, First Out (FEFO) protocol for all limited shelf-life products (such as sealants, underlayment, mastix, and foam). This Inspector functions as the Designated Quality Responsible Party (DQRP), ensuring the integrity of products and documentation before shipment. The incumbent must demonstrate strong Compliance Adherence and Influence without Formal Authority to uphold quality standards, accurately log all non-conformities in the BC system, and actively support CAPA (Corrective and Preventive Action) to drive continuous improvement in distribution and maximize customer satisfaction.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Technical certification in Quality Control, Logistics, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in quality inspection, warehouse, or logistics functions, preferably in regulated industries (food, chemicals, or manufacturing with shelf-life management).
  • Knowledge of inventory management methodologies, with an emphasis on FEFO and FIFO.
  • Ability to read, understand, and implement technical specifications and quality standards (e.g., ISO 9001).
  • Exceptional attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and make critical quality decisions.

Responsibilities

  • Strictly enforce and execute the First Expired, First Out (FEFO) protocol for all time-sensitive inventory (e.g., sealants, mastix, foam) prior to the picking process.
  • Conduct physical and system inspections of expiration dates on selected lots scheduled for shipment.
  • Utilize the system functionality to verify lot numbers, expiration dates, and inventory status (Available/Quarantine).
  • Generate and communicate internal alerts regarding inventory lots approaching minimum required shelf-life or expiration, recommending proper isolation or disposition.
  • Ensure the physical segregation and system quarantine (in ERP system) of expired, damaged, or non-conforming shelf-life products.
  • Perform quality inspections on staged orders according to the established Perfect Order Rate (POR) checklists and sampling plan.
  • Visually inspect all outgoing finished goods for physical damage (dents, scratches, broken packaging) incurred during warehousing or staging.
  • Verify order fulfillment accuracy, confirming that the correct item and quantity are prepared according to the sales order documentation.
  • Review and confirm the accuracy and completeness of all required shipping documentation, including labels, Bills of Lading (BOL), and Certificates of Analysis (CoA) when required.
  • Confirm that all packaging and loading methods meet internal standards to prevent transit damage.
  • Accurately log all quality failures or non-conformities related to POR or FEFO deviations directly into the Business Central system or the integrated Quality Management module.
  • Participate in the Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and follow-up activities associated with CAPA (Corrective and Preventive Action) to resolve systemic distribution quality issues.
  • Initiate and manage the product Hold process for suspect material, ensuring inventory is locked both physically and in the ERP system.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of all inspection results, test data, and quality control checks.
  • Compile and present weekly/monthly reports on key quality metrics, including POR compliance and FEFO failure rates, to the Quality and Operations Management teams.
  • Assist in the review and updating of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) related to shipping, handling, and shelf-life control to align with QMS standards.
  • Provide guidance and basic training to the Shipping/Logistics team on quality procedures, FEFO best practices, and the use of relevant BC quality fields.
  • Perform other duties assigned by management.
