About The Position

This is an open position with FirstEnergy Service Company, a subsidiary of FirstEnergy Corp. This is a full-time, on-site position located at any FirstEnergy location. FirstEnergy takes a market-based approach to pay, which may vary depending on your location. In addition, your actual base salary will depend on various factors such as your skills, qualifications, and experience. The estimated pay range for this role is $111,350 - $157,200. The pay range for certain locations, including the state of New Jersey, include a 20% differential to account for an increased cost of living, making the pay range for NJ $133,620 - $188,640.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Project Management, Engineering, Business, Finance, or a related field. In lieu of a degree, High School Diploma/GED and a minimum of 13 years related project management experience required.
  • 10+ years of experience in electric utility regulation, rates, finance, project management, or analytical roles, as well as 10+ years of relevant project management or program manager work experience required.
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills, with attention to detail and data integrity.
  • Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and deadlines in a regulatory filing environment with competing priorities.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, SharePoint, Teams, Publisher, and Power Automate.
  • Willing to travel for business to other company locations across the footprint for hearings, meetings, or other activities, which may include overnight travel, as necessary.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience supporting electric distribution rate cases or riders in one or more of the following jurisdictions: Ohio, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, West Virginia, or Maryland.
  • Familiarity with public utility commission processes, filing requirements, and timelines.
  • Experience with cost of service studies, rate design, or jurisdictional accounting.
  • Working knowledge of regulatory accounting principles and utility financial statements.
  • Experience with regulatory reporting tools, databases, workflows, or visualization software (e.g., SharePoint, Power Automate, Power BI).

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with external and internal stakeholders, including legal, rates, operations, finance, load forecasting, treasury, accounting, HR, etc., to develop timelines, work plans, reports, and track open action items and deliverables over the lifespan of the case.
  • Manage and coordinate kick-off meetings, core team meetings, trainings, discovery meetings, stand ups, etc., managing action items and keeping the team on task.
  • Manage onboarding of external counsel or expert witnesses among state rates and legal teams required to support rate cases.
  • Assist with developing appropriate processes, procedures, and flowcharts to support cross-collaborative rate case support across the states.
  • Assist with developing appropriate presentations, articles, letters/emails, etc. for leadership, communications, and investor relations.
  • Support automating and integrating rate case tools and documentation across all states.
  • Support discovery responses, data requests, and information requests from commissions, consumer advocates, and intervenors.
  • Assist in preparing schedules, testimony support, workpapers, and financial models used in rate proceedings.
  • Analyze revenue requirement components including O&M expenses, depreciation, rate base, cost of capital, and taxes.
