About The Position

The Distribution Ops Associate provides internal and external support for Video-On-Demand (VOD) content distribution activities for DE+E brands, including ABC, Disney Channels, Freeform, FX, and National Geographic Networks. The role works in a detail-oriented, fast-paced, multi-network environment and interacts with internal and external partners, including Media Services, Programming, Media Engineering, Broadcast Operations, Sales, and Marketing. It serves as a key point of contact for VOD delivery and CableLabs ADI metadata management, with responsibility for database accuracy and compliance with VOD partner technical requirements. The position is a contract role based in Glendale, California, with a hybrid workplace arrangement. The listed pay range is $35.00–$45.00 per hour.

Strong understanding of audio/video file formats, television standards, film formats, codecs, bitrates, frame rates, video resolutions, aspect ratios, broadcast audio configurations, and electronic delivery technologies.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google Suite products.
Understanding of Aspera SFTP software and the CableLabs ADI packaging specification.
Ability to work all shifts, including weekends and holidays.
Bachelor’s degree or relevant work experience in media packaging and distribution (the posting describes a bachelor’s degree as desired).

Responsibilities

Confirm entertainment programming assets are delivered according to programming schedules.
Communicate promptly with partners and dMVPDs and resolve their inquiries and support requests.
Execute distribution delivery planners and communicate delivery schedules to entitled partners and dMVPDs.
Communicate takedown alerts and affiliate alerts for high-profile content deliveries and programming priorities.
Redeliver VOD packages to partners and dMVPDs as required.
Track partner and dMVPD issues.
Oversee automated and manual Aspera VOD and DAI ad and promo deliveries to MVPDs, monitoring delivery timeliness.
Complete daily reporting and tactical tasks involving Canoe DAI assets and metadata, Nielsen VOD TIC Encoding data, and daily DAI Google reports with Ad Sales.
Deliver media to domestic clients using internal and external applications and tools, including Aspera, Signiant, and Media Monorail.
Troubleshoot VOD workflow failures, including automation issues; manually package content when necessary; support VOD partners; and ensure ordered deliveries are fulfilled promptly.
Develop subject-matter expertise in department workflows, databases, and software.
Resolve high-level issues related to file integrity, media attributes, and content compliance promptly.
Follow Standard Operating Procedures and assist with documenting department processes.
Support continuous improvement.
Assist the manager in developing, maintaining, and enforcing media management, storage, and content security policies.
Liaise with TWDC departments and provide a high level of customer service.
Work all shifts, including weekends and holidays.
