About The Position

This position is open to Veterans, Transitioning Military, National Guard Members, Military Spouses, Wounded Warriors, and their Caregivers. The Distribution Manager will manage and grow sales at key, regional, and distributor accounts for LANXESS Lubricant Additives Business (LAB) with account and budget responsibility. The role involves developing and maintaining key account plans, keeping CRM current, and identifying customer and product combinations with niche value propositions, particularly in the Metal Working Fluids (MWF) -- Lubricant Additives market with a focus on Additin products. The position requires proactive engagement in supply and operational planning through IBP monthly meetings, taking ownership of cost management, forecasting, overdues, and incoterm alignment. The Distribution Manager will lead by example, guide and coach junior sales managers, and learn the LANXESS culture, people, LAB product line, markets, and customers, while developing a positive reputation within the business unit. Participation in assigned trade shows such as AFPM, ILMA, STLE, and NLGI is also expected.

Requirements

  • 5-10 years of relevant sales experience.
  • Must have the ability to sell and drive results while being business savvy with a customer focus.
  • Excellent people management, influencing, relationship, team building and conflict management skills.
  • Must have the ability to be creative and a strategic thinker.
  • Ability to manage complexity to favorable outcomes.
  • Must be able to travel up to 50 percent of the time.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's Degree, MBA or Advanced Technical Degree preferred.
  • Ideally candidate should reside in the Midwest - Chicago, Ohio, etc.

Responsibilities

  • Take ownership whenever required with a proactive approach to cost management, forecasting, overdues, incoterm alignment, etc.
  • Lead by example at all times and guide and coach more junior sales managers as appropriate.
  • Learn the LANXESS culture, people, LAB product line, markets, customers, while developing a positive reputation within the business unit.
  • Trade show participation-AFPM, ILMA, STLE and NLGI as assigned.
