About The Position

The Oatey Intern Experience supports our growing organization by attracting talented students to develop them into future leaders. The Distribution intern will work directly with the distribution team at all levels within Oatey’s organizational structure. The position is designed to support distribution and warehousing as well as some transportation activities and KPI analysis. While working in this role the individual will be expected to communicate effectively in person, through email and over the phone and will interact with distribution centers, logistics partners, supply chain associates, suppliers and other internal stakeholders. These activities will provide exposure to all functional departments within Oatey and give the individual a thorough overview of the supply chain function.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in mechanical or industrial engineering, supply chain, operations, business, or related field
  • Strong analytical skills
  • High competency level with the Microsoft Office suite of products
  • Ability to balance multiple activities in a fast-paced setting
  • Ability to work in warehouse setting
  • Good communication skills

Responsibilities

  • Conduct velocity analyses to identify potentially more efficient options for activities in the distribution network
  • Support administrative tasks including, but not limited to collecting and analyzing data for weekly and monthly distribution reports, backorder reports, and other key drivers of performance.
  • Support new item set-up, daily review and communication of order fulfillment results, guided development of predictive analytics models, and other support activities.
