About The Position

At Leidos, our Power Delivery Services Team is a trusted and technology-focused solutions provider for utilities and mobile operators needing reliable power and telecommunication expertise. We are seeking a Distribution Engineering Construction Manager in Atlanta, GA, who is passionate about electric utility design engineering and dedicated to ensuring exceptional quality in every project. This role contributes to maintaining Leidos' reputation for high-quality work within our Power Delivery Services division, which offers consulting services for electrical transmission and distribution, substation, and transmission line projects nationwide. As a core team member, you will interact with other electric utility disciplines, contribute to engineering design calculations, and assess field data. You will partner with engineering and design teams to provide construction support, including post-construction reviews, and ensure adherence to engineering and construction standards. Responsibilities include engaging with technical designs and client standards, coordinating with permit agencies, right-of-way specialists, system owners, field leaders, forestry leaders, and 3rd party owners for joint-owned poles. This position requires heavy collaboration with designers and engineering leads to ensure safe and reliable constructability of client work packages, relying on knowledge of electric distribution construction and safety standards. The role also focuses on safety initiatives, including training and mentoring employees in proper safety practices and procedures. The position involves both field work at customer job sites and collaboration with engineering design teams in the Atlanta office.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree and 12+ years of experience (Additional relevant experience may be considered in lieu of degree).
  • Ability to demonstrate Written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated experience with electric utility infrastructure in OH and URD environments.
  • Prior experience working with field data collected from construction sites/electric utility project sites.
  • Experience with National Electric Safety Code (NESC) and client construction standards.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.).
  • Possess a valid US driver's license.
  • Ability to utilize a personal vehicle for job-related travel (mileage will be reimbursed).

Responsibilities

  • Provide engineering support during construction, including post-construction reviews.
  • Ensure all applicable engineering and construction standards have been met.
  • Engage with technical designs and Client standards, ensuring quality and timeliness of design deliverables.

  • Perform field/site visits and collaborate with engineering design teams.
