About The Position

The Distribution Driver works as part of the delivery team to ensure items are complete, packed correctly, and safely delivered to the correct locations in a timely manner. The role operates commercial cargo vans and transports deliveries to stores and distribution centers. It also includes preparing and reviewing transport manifests, securing and tracking cargo, maintaining assigned vehicles, following routes and schedules, complying with transportation laws, and preparing delivery-related reports and documents.

Requirements

Be 21 years of age or older.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Valid government-issued photo ID.
Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
Ability to drive for long periods and in heavy traffic.
Strong time-management and coworker relationship skills.
Attention to detail.
Some computer or technology skills.
Ability to remain seated inside a vehicle for extended periods.
Ability to pick up items weighing 50 or more pounds to load onto a vehicle.
Ability to sit and stand for long periods.
Ability to bend repetitively.
Ability to move heavy totes, boxes, and other cargo in and out of vehicles and into buildings.
Ability to communicate accurately with other employees frequently.

Responsibilities

Operate commercial cargo vans safely and properly.
Load, transport, and deliver items to stores and distribution centers safely and on time.
Review and complete transport manifests before and after distributing items.
Load and unload cargo, securing it properly to prevent damage or accidents.
Track, account for, and report on transported items and cargo.
Maintain and clean assigned vehicles, and report safety or maintenance issues.
Follow assigned routes and schedules and comply with transportation laws while maintaining a safe driving record.
Prepare reports and other documents related to deliveries, transportation, and distribution.
