About The Position

The Distribution Driver works as part of the delivery team to ensure items are complete, packed correctly, and delivered safely to the correct location in a timely manner. The role operates commercial cargo vans to transport deliveries to stores and distribution centers, completes transport manifests, tracks cargo, and maintains assigned vehicles. Drivers follow assigned routes and schedules and comply with transportation laws while maintaining a safe driving record.

Requirements

• Must be at least 21 years old.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid government-issued photo ID.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
• Ability to drive for long periods and in heavy traffic.
• Strong time-management and coworker relationship skills.
• Attention to detail.
• Some computer and technology skills.
• Ability to remain seated inside a vehicle for extended periods.
• Ability to pick up items weighing 50 or more pounds for loading onto a vehicle.
• Ability to sit and stand for long periods.
• Ability to bend in repetitive motion.
• Ability to move heavy totes, boxes, and other cargo in and out of vehicles and into buildings.
• Ability to communicate accurately with other employees frequently.

Responsibilities

• Operate commercial cargo vans safely and properly.
• Load, transport, and deliver items to stores and distribution centers safely and on time.
• Review and complete transport manifests before and after distributing items to delivery locations.
• Load and unload cargo and secure it properly to prevent damage or accidents.
• Track, account for, and maintain reports on items or cargo being transported.
• Maintain and clean assigned vehicles and report safety or maintenance issues.
• Follow assigned routes and schedules and abide by transportation laws while maintaining a safe driving record.
• Prepare reports and other documents related to deliveries, transportation, and distribution.
