About The Position

ENTRUST Solutions Group Canada, a Leidos company, is seeking a Distribution Design Technician to join their team in Regina. This role involves working within engineering teams to deliver overhead and underground distribution line design projects for utility and industrial customers. The position is ideal for individuals who enjoy close client interaction and hands-on problem-solving in a dynamic work environment supported by a talented technical and management team.

Requirements

• 1 year experience in distribution project design.
• Electrical or Civil Engineering degree or Electrical or Civil Engineering Technology diploma, or Power Lineman certificate with design experience.
• Ability to work in design teams and perform assigned tasks with limited supervision.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Exemplary customer service skill.

Responsibilities

• Develop new overhead and underground designs by applying knowledge of distribution electrical systems construction, operation, and maintenance.
• Prepare estimates, material take offs, scopes of work, and designs using client standards, industry codes and practices, and internal MHV procedures.
• Complete electrical and structural engineering calculations using industry and client tools such as PLS-CADD, SPIDAcalc, ALD, DSA, DCSM, and DAD.
• Produce survey and construction packages using industry and client software such as Office 365, ArcGIS, AutoCAD/MicroStation, PLS-CADD, AM/FM, and Passport.
• Conduct site visits for field reconnaissance during the project design phase and field inspections during the project construction phase.
• Effectively collaborate with clients, external stakeholders, and internal team members to produce engineering products that meet quality, schedule, and cost requirements.
• Complete specialized technical assignments and assist in the preparation of engineering reports.
