Leidos is seeking Distribution Engineers for their Eastern Pennsylvania workload. This position will initially be fully remote, with the expectation of transitioning to a hybrid schedule in an office in the King of Prussia area once it opens. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing construction work packages for electric distribution systems, which may be overhead (OH), underground (UG), or underground residential distribution (URD) environments. Project work includes joint use make ready and storm hardening initiatives. Work packages will be created using various software systems such as Electric Facilities Database (EFD), Computer Aided Design (CAD) tools, Work Management Systems (WMS), and other client systems. The role requires performing engineering calculations, including structural analysis of poles, guying, cable pulling, electric demand, fault currents, and coordination of protective devices. Additional assignments may involve preparing forestry trimming requests, facilitating permit and Right-of-Way acquisition, developing Bills of Material (BOM), estimating costs, and customer advocacy, such as acquiring easements or calculating a customer Contribution in Aid of Construction (CIAC). The position focuses on the design and construction work package development for electrical overhead and underground distribution systems (operating from 4kV through 138kV), primarily for programmatic work like overloaded transformers, inspection and maintenance, joint use, and inspection reports. Compliance with quality control, safe work practices, and project scope, schedule, and budget is essential. Leidos is a Fortune 500 company and an Ethisphere Institute’s “World's Most Ethical Company,” offering a fast-paced, diverse work environment and flexible work arrangements, with encouragement for career development and growth.
