Requirements

  • H.S. Diploma or equivalent
  • Associate's Degree or equivalent experience with a minimum of 1 to 2 years previous customer service experience
  • Must have Certification to ship Infectious/Dangerous Goods
  • Ability to write simple correspondence
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization
  • Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's.
  • Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, verbal, or diagram form.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations

Responsibilities

  • Receive mail-in or telephone orders, assign sales order number, enter into computer-based Order Entry module, and generate all necessary shipping documents.
  • Assemble, package and ship standing and open orders in compliance with government regulations, approved Company procedures, and commercial carrier’s special instructions.
  • Issue invoices.
  • Maintain inventory for Finished Goods, supplies, and shipping materials.
  • Reconcile periodic inventory audits and cycle counts with computer-based inventory records, maintaining at least 95% accuracy.
  • Provide Management with stock status and other reports as requested.
  • Maintain updated, accurate customer account records such as Ship To, Bill To, Price, Shipping Schedule, Special Handling Instructions, contact name, telephone number, and fax number.
  • Provide professional service to customers and prospective customers who place or inquire about orders, stock status, shipping and delivery, prices or who voice concerns about products or services.
  • Attempt to resolve all matters on a timely basis.
  • Refer product complaints to employees responsible for complaint handling.
  • Function as a back-up for the Receiving Department whenever circumstances require support.
  • Maintain Finished Goods inventory and shipping areas in a clean and orderly condition and in compliance with government regulations and approved Company policies.
  • Responsible for performing assigned tasks in accordance with applicable Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) regulations and Company EHS policies.
