The Distribution Clerk is responsible for all tasks that involve receiving, storage, charging, and distribution of supplies and equipment. This role involves stocking and replenishment of life-saving code carts and other apparatuses, rotating stock, and removing expired items. The clerk will perform inventory scanning on inpatient units, create and maintain isolation caddies and kits, and handle the pickup, cleaning, and sanitation of hospital equipment according to Joint Commission and infection control standards. Responsibilities also include restocking high-usage supplies in nurse servers and clean holdings, using a pneumatic tube station, and managing computer, verbal, and written transactions. The position requires working with staff of different skill levels and may involve accessing medication storage areas during supply replenishment. Training will be provided on department phone usage, responding to inquiries from various staff (nurses, RT, EVS, AA, etc.), identifying correct departments for specific needs, reading and responding to emails, and potentially mentoring new staff. Familiarity with delivery routes and locations is necessary. The role also involves using copier and printer machines, Cisco portable and desk phones, and delivering excellent customer service using the AIDET method.
