About The Position

The Distribution Center Operations Manager oversees and manages the daily operation of a single shift at an AutoZone distribution center, with responsibility for accuracy, productivity, on-time delivery, and safety. The manager regularly communicates with the DC Manager about process improvements, goals, and metrics. The role involves working in a fast-paced distribution center with climate-controlled workspaces and requires flexibility for shift scheduling.

Requirements

At least 5 years of successful experience in distribution or warehousing.
Flexibility to work a shift schedule.
Cross-functional experience overseeing multiple areas simultaneously.
Experience operating Powered Industrial Equipment (PIE).
Exceptional people skills and effective communication abilities.
Understanding of fast-paced distribution operations, including receiving, stocking, inbound, outbound, replenishment, and returns/recalls.
Ability to work in a safety-sensitive environment.

Nice To Haves

P&L management experience.
Bilingual proficiency in Spanish and English.

Responsibilities

Manage and assist Advisors and Supervisors across multiple departments.
Motivate employees and work effectively in a team environment.
Ensure operational Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) are on target.
Attend and/or lead pre-shift meetings in different departments to communicate and prioritize assignments, safety issues, and additional tasks.
Mentor, train, and develop Advisors for career progression.
Develop and share best practices across shifts.
Drive continuous improvement in safety, quality, cost, and delivery.
Communicate new policies and procedures to Advisors and AutoZoners.
Maintain a safe working environment and ensure AutoZoners follow safety practices, including use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
Perform other duties as assigned.
