About The Position

George T. Sanders Company is hiring a full-time delivery driver/warehouse worker for its Distribution Center. The role combines driving (approximately 70% of the work) with warehouse operations (approximately 30%). The employee safely operates company delivery vehicles to transport products to customers, provide timely deliveries and customer service, and assists with warehouse and shop work as directed by the Branch Manager. Work may take place at the distribution center, job sites, and residential or commercial construction sites. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 8 hours per day starting at 7 a.m., with additional hours as needed; there are no night shifts. The position is non-exempt and starts at $22.00.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Basic reading, writing, arithmetic, computer, and typing skills.
Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to communicate effectively in English.
Strong attention to detail and ability to complete required documentation accurately.
At least 21 years of age.
Maintain a valid Colorado driver’s license and driving record that meets company and DOT requirements.
Meet applicable U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) and Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) requirements, including current DOT medical certification and applicable physical qualification standards.
Meet DOT vision, hearing, color recognition, and physical requirements necessary to safely operate a commercial vehicle and perform essential job duties.
Pass required pre-employment and random DOT drug and alcohol screenings and comply with applicable controlled substance regulations.
Successfully complete required DOT and company training, examinations, and safety requirements.
Meet additional company qualifications necessary to safely perform the essential functions of the position.
Stand for extended periods and frequently bend, reach, lift, and handle materials weighing up to 50 pounds.
Safely operate company vehicles, forklifts, and other warehouse equipment only as authorized and properly trained.
Wear required personal protective equipment, including safety glasses, work boots, hardhats, and gloves, as applicable.
Adapt to varying weather, traffic, and working conditions, including exposure to hot and cold temperatures.

Responsibilities

Maintain a valid Colorado driver’s license and immediately report license suspension, accidents, or injuries to the Branch Manager.
Safely operate company vehicles and authorized warehouse equipment, including forklifts, Hysters, and cherry pickers, while following traffic laws, safety policies, SOPs, and JSAs.
Complete vehicle and equipment inspections, daily logs, and preventive maintenance, and report maintenance or safety concerns.
Pull, verify, package, label, stage, and securely load customer orders.
Deliver products accurately, safely, and on time; assist customers with unloading and placement of materials as needed.
Obtain customer signatures, maintain accurate delivery records, and document returned materials.
Inspect incoming and outgoing materials for quality and ensure damaged products are not accepted or shipped.
Unload, move, and organize warehouse materials and dispose of waste appropriately.
Maintain clean, organized, and safe warehouse, shop, and vehicle areas.
Keep required vehicle documents and emergency equipment current and readily available.
Communicate delivery issues, customer concerns, equipment concerns, and shift updates to appropriate personnel.
Turn off and secure equipment when it is not in use.
Perform general housekeeping and other related duties as assigned by the Branch Manager or direct supervisor.
