About The Position

The Distribution Center Associate receives and stocks automotive parts in a warehouse environment. The role requires moving and thinking quickly, bending at the waist and knees, and climbing a short ladder to reach upper shelves. The associate also helps maintain a clean and safe work area and reports work hazards when discovered.

This is a full-time, non-exempt position in the Distribution & Logistics division. The standard schedule is Monday through Friday, 40 hours per week, with some overtime potentially required. The position reports to the Distribution Center Manager and has no direct reports.

Requirements

• High school diploma.
• Attention to detail.
• 0 to 3 years of warehouse experience.
• Good to above-average computer skills.
• Must be able to pass a criminal background check and drug screen that meet company guidelines.
• Ability to walk, squat, bend at the waist and knees, climb a short ladder, and lift objects weighing 50 pounds or more.

• Knowledge of shipping and receiving procedures.

Responsibilities

• Receive and stock automotive parts efficiently.
• Read and determine items to move, gather, or distribute based on customer orders, shipping orders, or requisitions.
• Transport materials from receiving areas to designated storage or other areas.
• Sort and organize materials by criteria such as size, type, style, color, or product code.
• Assemble customer orders and place them on pallets or shelves, or convey them to packing or shipping departments.
• Mark materials with identifying information and open containers.
• Record quantities of materials or items received or distributed.
• Weigh or count items to ensure compliance with company standards.
• Use a computer for record-keeping.
• Prepare parcels for mailing and shipment via common carrier.
• Keep the personal work area and workplace clean, put away unused materials and supplies, and clear trash before the end of the shift.
• Report work hazards immediately upon discovery.
