About The Position

The Distribution & Warehouse Manager oversees all aspects of shipping and receiving for a 14+ million case facility. Guiding and developing a team of supervisors on 3 shifts and over 80 associates. Focusing on efficiency, process improvement, and positive employee relations while managing budget and meeting customer expectations. As a member of the plant management team, partners with other departments to achieve efficiency and collaboration. Requirements

  • Experience managing a team of supervisors and associates.
  • Experience in shipping and receiving operations.
  • Knowledge of efficiency, process improvement, and employee relations.
  • Ability to manage budget and meet customer expectations.
  • Partnership with other departments.
  • Understanding of picking, assembly, shipping, and storage processes.
  • Experience with inbound raw materials, packaging, and cross-docked materials.
  • Skills in implementing organizational change, continuous process improvement, and quality improvement techniques.
  • Technical expertise to improve operations.
  • Experience in project management from inception to completion, including design, justification, equipment selection, installation, and start-up.
  • Experience in developing annual Capital Plans.
  • Strong feedback and communication skills.
  • Fair and consistent approach to recognition, coaching, and employee relations.
  • Interface with transportation, logistics, or 3PL providers.
  • Responsibility for forklift fleet management.
  • Understanding of food safety and quality policies and responsibilities.
  • Knowledge of cGMPs.
  • Ability to ensure accurate and timely completion of food safety and quality records.

Responsibilities

  • Champions a safe work culture and reinforces behavior-based safety.
  • Manages the Distribution Center shipping over 14M cases per year. Including oversight of picking (pallet, case, eaches, DSDC); custom retail display assembly; shipping (Truck load, LTL, parcel, sea going containers); storage and replenishment.
  • Manages the Receiving Department for the plant. Including receiving of all inbound shipments of raw materials, packaging, supplies, or cross docked materials.
  • Implements organizational change, continuous process improvement, and quality improvement techniques.
  • Provides technical expertise to improve operations.
  • Participates in projects from inception to completion including; design, justification, equipment selection, installation, and start up.
  • Assists in developing annual Capital Plan.
  • Engages workforce with strong feedback and communication; maintains a fair and consistent approach to recognition, coaching, and employee relations.
  • Interfaces with transportation, logistics, or 3PL transportation provider to insure on-time delivery.
  • Responsible for forklift fleet of the plant, in partnership with 3rd party maintenance provider.
  • Has a critical role in assuring food safety and quality within the manufacturing environment by upholding food safety and regulatory policies and responsibilities.
  • Responsible for following cGMP’s.
  • Ensure all food safety and quality records are completed accurately and timely.
