About The Position

The Distinguished Scientist, Systems Toxicology provides scientific leadership in applying multi-omics datasets and systems biology to predict safety liabilities, investigate toxicity mechanisms, and assess human relevance. The role connects molecular and phenotypic datasets to generate testable hypotheses, guide experimental investigations, and inform decisions across drug discovery and development. It requires knowledge of regulatory safety requirements in pharmaceutical drug development, as well as strong networking and communication skills. Within Toxicology Innovation, this senior, hands-on individual contributor shapes the scientific direction of omics-based safety assessment and leads the development of robust analytical workflows. Working across Toxicology Innovation and with project toxicologists and scientific advisors, the role translates biological questions into integrated analyses and actionable scientific insights. It leads complex investigations, establishes analytical approaches and standards, mentors scientists across disciplines, and builds capabilities that strengthen safety assessment across the portfolio, with global scientific influence. Sanofi's Preclinical Safety department is a global, science-driven organization focused on data-informed safety assessments supporting medicine development. The Global Toxicology Innovation group works at the intersection of computational science, biology, and drug development to advance toxicity prediction, mechanistic understanding, and clinical translatability.
