About The Position

The Disputes Strategy Project Advisor III plays a key role in shaping and advancing Velera’s disputes capabilities by supporting the development and execution of strategic initiatives. This role partners closely with cross‑functional teams to translate strategic priorities into actionable plans, ensuring alignment across product, technology, operations, compliance, and external partners. The position focuses on driving complex, high‑impact disputes initiatives, supporting roadmap development, and managing strategic vendor relationships. The incumbent serves as a liaison among stakeholders to help deliver scalable, compliant, and forward‑looking disputes solutions aligned with business objectives, regulatory requirements, and network rules.

Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in Business, Management, Marketing or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
  • 8–10 years of progressive experience in strategy, project management, business analysis, or related disciplines supporting complex initiatives.
  • Experience managing or partnering with third‑party vendors, including performance oversight and strategic alignment.
  • Strong understanding of disputes, payments, or financial services ecosystems preferred.
  • Proven ability to translate strategy into execution through structured planning, prioritization, and stakeholder engagement.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, facilitation, and executive communication skills.
  • Exceptional executive communication and PowerPoint skills with strategy ability to tell clear, persuasive stories.
  • Strong influencing, networking, and critical thinking skills to build and foster existing consultative relationships that drive alignment and partnership opportunities.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in both verbal and written formats to executives and leaders at all levels
  • Must be committed to a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and complete tasks and function well in a high-pressure, deadline-driven environment.

Responsibilities

  • Supports the development and execution of disputes strategy, including multi‑year roadmaps and enterprise initiatives.
  • Leads planning and coordination for large‑scale disputes initiatives, including scope definition, sequencing, dependency management, and success metrics.
  • Manages strategic relationships with third‑party disputes vendors to ensure alignment with roadmap priorities, contractual commitments, and long‑term capability goals.
  • Partners with internal stakeholders to evaluate vendor solutions, enhancements, and platform evolution opportunities.
  • Drives roadmap progress by coordinating across product, technology, compliance, and business teams to ensure initiatives are clearly defined, prioritized, and executed.
  • Translates strategic objectives into business requirements, initiative plans, and measurable outcomes that deliver business and client value.
  • Provides leadership in initiative governance, including risk identification, issue resolution, milestone tracking, and stakeholder communications.
  • Contributes to visioning, product planning, and future‑state design for disputes capabilities, informed by industry trends, regulatory changes, and network rules.
  • Collaborates with internal and external partners to assess solution options, evaluate tradeoffs, and recommend strategic paths forward.
  • Ensures initiatives incorporate policy, regulatory, and network rule considerations throughout planning and delivery.
  • Serves as a subject matter resource and thought partner, contributing to best practices in disputes strategy, vendor management, and initiative execution.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
