About The Position

Omnicare, a provider of pharmacy services to long-term care facilities and other healthcare customers, is hiring a pharmacist for its long-term care dispensing pharmacy. Following Omnicare’s sale by CVS Health, the person hired will be employed by Omnicare as an independent, standalone organization, not by CVS Health. The pharmacist provides routine and emergency drug screening, information, processing, and dispensing services for multiple drug distribution systems, helping ensure appropriate products reach customers efficiently and safely. This full-time role is scheduled for 40 hours per week, with hours based on business needs. The stated operating hours are Monday through Friday, 8 a.m.–11 p.m.; Saturday, 8 a.m.–8 p.m.; and Sunday, 8 a.m.–4 p.m. Weekend coverage rotates every third weekend. There is no on-call requirement.

Requirements

• Be an active pharmacist licensed in Indiana and in good standing.
• Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy degree.

Nice To Haves

• Long-term care pharmacy experience.
• IV certification or experience.
• Immunization certification or willingness to become immunization certified.

Responsibilities

• Ensure accurate entry of orders.
• Maintain pharmacy security.
• Adhere to required delivery schedules.
• Verify orders entered by technician staff for accuracy.
• Check new and refill labels and orders for completeness and precision.
• Check drug packaging and labeling for content and accuracy.
• Prepare and/or supervise sterile IV drug products or solutions, if required.
• Assist in maintaining perpetual inventory for Schedule II drugs.
• Apply knowledge of DEA and state laws regarding controlled-drug dispensing.
• Provide evening, weekend, and holiday coverage during scheduled rotations based on business needs.
• Follow applicable state and government regulations, including HIPAA.
• Perform other duties as assigned; duties may vary by location.
• Help foster continuous improvement, quality, and service, and prioritize pharmacy workflow.
