About The Position

This full-time pharmacist role is based in a closed-door, non-customer-facing long-term care pharmacy operated by Omnicare, a wholly owned subsidiary of CVS Health. The pharmacist provides routine and emergency drug screening, information, processing, and dispensing services for long-term care facilities and other customers in healthcare environments. The position supports pharmacy management goals and objectives, ensuring medications reach customers accurately, safely, and efficiently. The schedule is based on business needs: Monday through Friday, 1:30 p.m. to 9 p.m., and Saturday and Sunday, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., with a weekend rotation every third weekend. The role includes scheduled evening, weekend, and holiday coverage. This benefit-eligible position has an anticipated schedule of 35 hours per week. CVS Health advertises a $5,000 sign-on bonus, paid as $2,500 30 days after hire and $2,500 six months after hire.

Requirements

• Active pharmacist license in the state of North Carolina, in good standing.
• Bachelor of Science degree in Pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy.

Responsibilities

• Ensure accurate entry of orders.
• Maintain pharmacy security.
• Adhere to required delivery schedules.
• Verify orders entered by technician staff for accuracy.
• Check new and refill labels and orders for completeness and precision.
• Check drug packaging and labeling for content and accuracy.
• Prepare and/or supervise sterile IV drug products or solutions, if required.
• Assist in maintaining a perpetual inventory for Schedule II drugs.
• Apply knowledge of DEA requirements and state law regarding controlled drug dispensing.
• Provide evening, weekend, and holiday coverage during scheduled rotations based on business needs.
• Follow applicable state and government regulations, including HIPAA.
• Perform other duties as assigned; duties may vary by location.
• Help lead and foster a culture of continuous improvement, quality, and service.
• Prioritize pharmacy workflow and provide excellent service.
