About The Position

The Dispensary Manager oversees the dispensary’s daily operations and transactions, serves customers, and develops a professional team passionate about cannabis. The Manager reports directly to the General Manager and works with company leadership to ensure sound recordkeeping and compliance with local and state regulations. The role includes implementing dispensary policies, overseeing product inventory, managing and developing staff, and overseeing marketing, promotions, and reports related to the dispensary’s daily operations and financials. The position requires cannabis knowledge, retail management experience, effective communication, and the ability to work varied hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays. Physical duties include bending, lifting up to 50 pounds independently and 75 or more pounds with assistance, and standing or sitting for long periods.

Requirements

At least 3 years of management experience.
At least 2 years of cannabis retail experience.
Must pass a federal background check.
Must be at least 21 years old.
Must possess a valid license or state ID.
Must be available to work varied hours and/or days, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Familiarity with point-of-sale systems.
In-depth knowledge of cannabis.
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret documents related to dispensary performance, business periodicals, professional journals, safety, security, technical procedures, and governmental regulations.
Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with staff and customers.
Ability to work under pressure without losing composure.
Practical, proactive thinking; attention to detail; organization; patience; and multitasking ability.
Ability to bend, lift up to 50 pounds independently and 75 or more pounds with assistance, and stand or sit for long periods.

Responsibilities

Ensure the dispensary complies with security, inventory, and local and state regulations.
Manage and inspire staff to deliver high-quality customer service.
Ensure the safety and satisfaction of customers and employees.
Educate and develop staff on cannabis strains, edibles, concentrates, and consumption mechanisms.
Create budgets and forecast sales based on retail business principles and experience.
Set sales, service, and profit goals and lead staff to exceed them.
Work with the buyer to procure an adequate supply of quality products.
Fulfill staffing needs and coordinate scheduling.
Communicate with and coach staff regularly to support excellent service.
Implement and manage company-directed dispensary policies and procedures.
Document financial, inventory, and customer trends; maintain sales and purchasing reports.
Manage and maintain dispensary sales and inventory management software.
Ensure employees follow company protocols.
Review dispensary employees’ performance regularly.
Lead morning meetings to set sales goals, address employee concerns, and prepare the team for the day.
Create a warm and welcoming environment for staff and customers.
Work routinely with vendors and community members.
Perform other duties as assigned.
