Our Assistant General Manager will support the General Manager in leading our retail team to drive business growth and assist in executing our sales strategy within the DC market. This individual will help oversee the day-to-day operations of our cannabis dispensary, balancing time between the retail floor and administrative tasks. A passion for the cannabis industry, strong product knowledge, and experience in managing or supporting a successful retail team are essential. In collaboration with the General Manager, the Assistant General Manager will ensure customers/patients receive exceptional service and that the dispensary complies with all relevant laws and regulations.

Requirements

For legal reasons, all employees need to be at least 21 years of age.
You will be asked to pass a Federal and State criminal history background check.
An Associate's degree in Business Administration, Sales Management, or Communications.
A minimum of five (5) years of experience that demonstrates growth and/or advancement in complexity, difficulty, or level of responsibility.
A minimum of five (5) years of managerial experience.
A minimum of seven (7) years of retail experience.
A minimum of two (2) years of METRC experience.
Excellent leadership skills, with steadfast resolve, personal integrity, and business acumen.

Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
Excellent customer service.

Nice To Haves

Bachelor's Degree Preferred.
Three (3) years of cannabis experience preferred.
Dutchie experience.

Responsibilities

Assist in managing and overseeing full dispensary operations and supervise employees.
Support the completion of store administration responsibilities and ensure compliance with state regulations, policies, and procedures.
Assist in ensuring the store remains compliant with security, inventory, and local and state regulations.
Maintain outstanding store condition and visual merchandising standards.
Maintain in-depth knowledge of products and strains in the store, as well as industry-wide product knowledge.
Assist in providing education for employees about different cannabis strains, edibles, concentrates, and consumption mechanisms.
Collaborate with leadership to identify current marketing trends and advertisements to determine the effectiveness of different sales, styles and strategies and apprise leadership.
Ensure high levels of customers satisfaction through excellent service and professionalism.
Help develop process flows for customer/patient experience, customer service, Point-of-Sale (POS) and inventory handling practices, with a focus on enhancing the customer experience and ensuring customer retention.
Assist with ensuring that inventory audits and reconciliations are routinely conducted and finalizing any inventory reports.
Support efforts to provide safety and satisfaction to employees and customers/patients; as well as finding resolutions for issues that arise from product availability, pricing, complaints, grievances, etc.
Contribute to fostering a proactive selling culture that focuses on building a confident and competent team, in order to build a loyal customer/patient following through clear and positive communication.
Help drive business results by maximizing daily sales plans, managing expenses, and improving metrics through sales floor leadership.
Assist in meeting sales goals by training, motivating, mentoring, and providing feedback to sales associates.
Conduct weekly inventory audits and report needed products to Operations according to ordering SOP.
Check products in POS and METRC, and verify all tiers and pricing are correct in POS.
Regularly performing METRC and POS audits and verify data for accuracy.
Maintain product expiration logs and create ways to sell products prior to expiration date.
Waste expired product(s) as needed in accordance with ABCA standards.
Foster a culture of professionalism, guiding teams to achieve optimal results.
Partner with the General Manager to monitor staff performance, provide timely feedback, along with development goals, assign accountabilities, set objectives, establish priorities, conduct annual performance evaluations, and administer salary adjustments.
Assist in retaining and developing top performers by understanding individual's motivations and providing actionable feedback.
Collaborate with General Manager addressing low performance quickly, compassionately, and in alignment with company policies.
Assist in managing employee's scheduling, basic time off requests, performance reviews, etc.
All other duties as necessary.
