About The Position

The Dispatch Router is responsible for coordinating, planning, and overseeing nighttime and early morning Delivery Truck Driver routing. This role involves creating and building routes using Roadnet and MobileCast Programs, collaborating with various departments to manage supply chain logistics, and handling internal challenges and client complaints. The Dispatch Router also anticipates and addresses delivery delays to ensure shipping schedules are met.

Requirements

• High School diploma, equivalency degree, or related experience
• 3 years management / supervisory experience
• 3 years using RoadNet and Mobile cast software programs
• Prior experience working in a wholesale produce distribution and / or routing environment
• Experience in fleet dispatching and routing internal fleet
• Proficient in computer use with emphasis on Microsoft Word and Excel
• Valid driver’s license
• Thorough understanding of all aspects of fleet management and operations procedures
• Able to work in a fast paced, multi-tasked environment
• Able to look at challenges and create long term solutions
• Ability to respond to common inquiries from staff, and others
• Ability to collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions
• Ability to deal with abstract and concrete information
• Ability to make decisions in a timely manner, utilizing input from others as appropriate
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships
• Ability to resolve conflicts
• Ability to speak clearly and concisely both in oral and written communication.

Responsibilities

• Create and build routes using Roadnet and MobileCast Programs
• Work with the Transportation Department, Shipping Department, and Sales Department and interdepartmentally to manage supply chain logistics, including routing and truck utilization strategies to create greater efficiency.
• Handle internal challenges and elevated external client complaints and strive to find proactive ways to reduce them
• Distribute the dispatch routing and all related information to the designated department representative in an accurate and timely manner
• Anticipates and determines causes of delays in deliveries and takes appropriate action to meet shipping schedules.
