Dispatcher - Part Time
About The Position
The Dispatcher is responsible for developing delivery routes, maintaining contact with drivers, and acting as a communication liaison. This role involves collaborating with management to modify routes, handling customer needs, and addressing last-minute schedule changes. The dispatcher will monitor route changes due to road construction or other issues, ensuring timely deliveries. Additionally, this position requires ensuring the continuous implementation of company policies, fostering a team effort, assisting absent employees, mentoring, protecting company assets, and adhering to all relevant laws and policies, including maintaining a drug-free workplace.
Requirements
- Previous dispatcher work experience preferred
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule that includes occasional evenings and Saturdays
- Minimum 2 years of previous customer service and/or sales experience
- Strong telephone, verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple tasks at one time
- High school diploma or higher
- Minimum age requirement of 18 years
- Valid In state motor vehicle license
- Ability to work Saturdays
Responsibilities
- Develop delivery routes and maintain contact with drivers throughout the day
- Collaborate with management to modify daily routes to accommodate the needs of customers
- Act as a communication liaison through the two-way dispatching system and answer incoming phone calls from drivers on the road
- Cultivate strong relationships with drivers and customers to reduce the stress that comes with last minute schedule changes
- Monitor any sudden route changes or road construction issues and work with drivers to establish new routes for timely deliveries
- Ensure continuous implementation and enforcement of Tire Discounters' policies and procedures.
- Build and maintain a team effort consistent with the goals of the company
- Assist and perform other duties of absent employees as necessary.
- Be a strong mentor and lead by example.
- Protect company assets, cash, inventory, equipment, systems and documents
- Adhere to state, local and federal laws
- Maintain a drug-free workplace
- Adhere to policies for work orders and invoices
