Dispatcher (NIGHT)
About The Position
Airgas Dry Ice is looking for a collaborative Dispatcher-Supervisor / Lead to support route assignments, ensure a balanced partnership with our production team, and foster safe, efficient logistics operations. Guide driver training for DOT compliance, regulations, company rules, and internal processes. Update customers regularly on delivery statuses and assist with providing tender. Coordinates with and supports drivers while updating necessary information electronically. Provide ongoing support, guidance, and assistance to drivers as needed. Determine driver routes, destinations, vehicle assignments, and timelines for transporting freight. Coordinate regular truck maintenance and service needs with the shop team. Monitor Hours of Service and provide active oversight and stewardship of freight loading to ensure safety processes are met.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Excellent communication skills, including proficiency in transportation management software and other related programs
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Nice To Haves
- Proven experience in transportation dispatching or a related field
- Forklift experience or a willingness to gain experience
