About The Position

This role involves scheduling and dispatching drivers, work crews, vehicles, or equipment. The dispatcher will relay information, use communication tools, resolve customer issues, and manage daily work schedules and orders. Key responsibilities include preparing work orders, maintaining records, confirming jobs, and responding to emergencies.

Requirements

  • Proficiency in using telephones, two-way radios, and text messages for communication.
  • Ability to speak with supervisors and customers to resolve problems and address requests.
  • Skills in preparing daily work schedules and ensuring equipment availability.
  • Experience in preparing and receiving work orders.
  • Organizational skills for maintaining various types of records.
  • Attention to detail for completing and verifying work tickets and logs.
  • Ability to respond to emails promptly and provide confirmations.
  • Capability to notify customers immediately of missing equipment.
  • Skill in confirming jobs with external contacts.
  • Ability to create daily work tickets and organize them for drivers.
  • Capacity to inform workers about job details and dispatch them effectively.
  • Ability to respond to emergency issues in a timely manner and coordinate with management.
  • Willingness to perform duties outside of regular business hours if necessary.

Responsibilities

  • Scheduling and dispatching drivers, work crews, vehicles, or equipment to appropriate locations according to predetermined schedules, customer requests, or immediate needs.
  • Relaying information such as work orders or other messages to and from work crews, field inspectors, supervisors, or emergency personnel.
  • Using telephones, two-way radios, or text messages to contact employees or emergency personnel.
  • Speaking with supervisors or customers to resolve problems or address requests for services or equipment.
  • Preparing daily work schedules, ordering labor, and ensuring proper equipment is available for drivers.
  • Preparing work orders for crews or receiving work orders from crews.
  • Keeping and organizing work requests, customer requests, completed work requests, charges for work performed, expenses for services performed, inventory records, and other information.
  • Completing work tickets for drivers on a daily basis.
  • Ensuring all work tickets are returned and filled out properly.
  • Responding to all email orders with confirmation.
  • Answering all emails in a timely manner.
  • Matching all tickets with labor tickets and verifying against driver logs.
  • Notifying customers immediately of any missing equipment.
  • Calling Power Company Foremen to confirm jobs for the following day/week.
  • Creating all tickets for the following day and placing them in the drivers' boxes.
  • Informing workers of the type and location of work to be performed and dispatching workers to the job.
  • Responding to emergency issues pertaining to jobs in a timely manner, coordinating with the GM (may fall outside of regular business hours).
