About The Position

The Dispatcher is responsible for dispatching company and third-party trucking and fielding customer calls. The role coordinates freight movements, assigns drivers and carriers using the OTM system and Samsara, and provides quality service to internal and external customers. The Dispatcher communicates with yard managers about transportation and dispatch needs, organizes work and makes decisions, and investigates accidents when necessary. Other tasks may be assigned.

Requirements

• Maintain an excellent attendance record.
• Communicate effectively, verbally and in writing, with other departments and employees at all levels.
• Represent the company positively and professionally when interacting with employees, leadership, and the public.
• Multitask, prioritize, and demonstrate effective time-management skills.
• Have strong keyboarding skills.
• Have a strong working knowledge of Word, Outlook, and Excel.
• Know Federal and State DOT regulations.
• Know IFTA and reporting procedures.
• Make quick decisions in a fast-paced, changing work environment.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in dispatch or the transportation field is preferred but not required.
