About The Position
Aston Carter is seeking a high-energy, customer-focused Dispatcher to coordinate vehicle shipments from pickup through delivery while building strong relationships with carriers and customers. This permanent, fully onsite position is based in Plymouth, Michigan, and is scheduled Monday through Friday from 1 PM to 10 PM. It offers a path into transportation leadership and an opportunity to build a career in logistics and supply chain operations in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree preferred, or 1+ year of logistics, transportation, dispatch, brokerage, or supply chain experience, or 2–5 years of high-volume customer service or call center experience.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
- Tech-savvy, with the ability to learn transportation software.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
- Professional demeanor and a strong sense of urgency.
Nice To Haves
- Experience in trucking, transportation, brokerage, 3PL, fleet operations, automotive, or logistics is highly preferred.
- Bachelor's degree preferred.
Responsibilities
- Manage shipments from assignment through delivery.
- Monitor load status and provide shipment updates.
- Source carrier capacity and coordinate transportation moves.
- Resolve delays, service issues, and delivery exceptions.
- Maintain accurate information within the TMS system.
- Partner with operations, carriers, and customers to ensure successful deliveries.
