This role involves triaging incoming transport requests from clients via phone and email, transferring this information into a dispatch database, and developing logistics plans for individual transports. This includes coordinating ground, commercial air, and charter air transportation based on client needs. The dispatcher will engage and schedule appropriate transportation resources, providing clear and concise direction via phone. Monitoring ground and air resources throughout transport is crucial, ensuring all points of contact are updated. Accurate notes and transport updates must be entered into the dispatch database. The position requires building rapport with client coordinators, region supervisors, and drivers, maintaining a customer-first attitude, and escalating client concerns to management when necessary. Candidates should possess a high school diploma or GED and ideally have prior experience in dispatch, transportation logistics, or medical administrative roles. Availability to work all shifts, including overnights, weekends, and holidays, is required. Essential skills include knowledge of computer operations for data entry and manipulation, strong English communication skills (speaking, reading, writing), effective prioritization and decision-making, and the ability to handle multiple tasks while ensuring timely dispatch and monitoring of services. A clear and understandable radio and telephone voice is also necessary.
