As our Dispatcher, you will efficiently manage the dispatch of vehicles for the Program's transportation system, ensuring cost-effective and timely services in accordance with all program requirements. Every day you will schedule transportation for clients throughout the service area in a cost-efficient manner. Additionally, you may periodically supervise Transportation Department Staff in the absence of leadership. To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate exceptional organizational skills, a strong ability to manage logistics and scheduling, and contribute to the cost-efficient delivery of transportation services, all while functioning effectively under direct supervision.

Requirements

• High School Diploma/GED
• Two (2) years experience in dispatching or an equivalent combination of training and experience
• Driver's License: CA

Responsibilities

• Schedule transportation for clients throughout the service area in a cost-efficient manner.
• Periodically supervise Transportation Department Staff in the absence of leadership.
• Receive incoming transportation calls, provide information and schedule reservations in accordance with Program and transit schedules.
• Record scheduled rides to be issued to drivers and, as appropriate, effectively dispatch vehicles to respond to immediate transit needs.
• Record all dispatching data accurately.
• Assist with Transportation Department record keeping and data entry.
• Comply with all F.C.C. regulations.
• Notify Meals on Wheels leadership, or designee when a Home Delivered Meal customer does not respond.
