About The Position

States Logistics Services, Inc. is a third-party logistics company (3PL) specializing in all aspects of supply chain management. States Logistics operates a combination of public and contract warehouses in Southern California and Arizona, servicing various industries. Our focus on service and operational execution has enabled us to be rated the "Best of the Best" within our customers' distribution networks. This role provides support to Class A drivers, ensuring smooth route operations and addressing any issues. The dispatcher will communicate with drivers to correct errors, make independent decisions for route assignments to ensure on-time delivery, provide customer updates, and complete various reports. Other clerical duties may be assigned by a Supervisor or Manager.

Requirements

  • Excellent communication and computer skills
  • Must be able to multi-task
  • Critical thinking: must be able to adapt to ever-changing scenarios and readjust using the most economical plan.
  • Successful candidates will have to pass a pre-employment background.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working within a Truck Management System (TMS) preferred.
  • Previous dispatching experience for Class A drivers strongly preferred
  • Knowledge of the Phoenix metro area to facilitate efficient routing

Responsibilities

  • Provide support to the Class A drivers (Local) on duty, ensuring that the routes run smoothly and addressing any issues that may arise.
  • Communicate with drivers when errors occur with route assignments to get them back on track to be updated in real-time.
  • Ability to work independently and make decisions for drivers/route assignments to ensure OTD for pickup and deliveries.
  • Provide customer updates on pickup and/or delivery status via email, websites, and/or phone.
  • Update information on various reports for both internal and external customers.
  • Other clerical duties assigned by the Supervisor or Manager.
