About The Position

Sprague, one of the largest independent suppliers of energy and materials handling services in the Northeast, is looking for a Dispatcher to join their transportation team. This position is responsible for dispatching Sprague fleet and outside carriers, providing support related to driver management, and order fulfillment. The ideal candidate will have five plus years in a dispatch and logistics environment, a proven ability to work as part of a team, and the ability to prioritize workload and perform under pressure.

Requirements

• Five years plus in a dispatch and logistics environment.
• Possess knowledge of DOT regulations as they pertain to Commercial Motor Vehicle drivers.
• Solid computer literacy (Word, Excel, and Dispatch software) and proven ability to learn new technologies.
• Working knowledge of the NY Metropolitan area including NYC, Long Island and Westchester.
• Must be flexible to work weekend shifts and evening/night hours as needed to support the business.
• Ability to work well with others, organize workload, and perform under pressure in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for dispatching to Sprague fleet and outside carriers, including reviewing each order, product type, delivery time, location, and all other relevant issues to maintain a safe, reliable, and efficient operation.
• Monitor order fulfillment by outside carriers.
• Supervise, direct, and assist drivers throughout their deliveries and with any travel or directions they may need while on the road.
• Monitor customer tank polling and tank polling orders/tank monitoring.
• Assist in resolving delivery and customer concerns.
• Input Driver’s Data Sheet for payroll and hours of service management.
• Order entry when Customer Service is not on duty.
