About The Position

The Dispatcher - Sales is responsible for dispatching products for delivery while ensuring that all orders are assigned to the proper vehicle and driver on daily basis. This role involves communicating verbally and electronically with leadership in each Sales Center to ensure all sales orders are received, processed, and dispatched to each warehouse correctly. The dispatcher will utilize Logistics Execution Optimization (LEO) planning software to dispatch product sold for the appropriate day, ensuring orders are sequenced correctly for delivery. They will also understand and perform the “Hot Shot” process and generation of loads and invoices for creation in CONA/SAP, and possess basic product knowledge and understanding of vehicle types for successful dispatching of orders. Daily communication and reports from LEO will be provided to the management team. The role requires working with Sales Center management to assist in resolving concerns or issues, and conducting periodic site visits to each Sales Center to gain feedback from management and drivers on dispatching effectiveness. Appropriate duties as assigned by management will also be performed.

Requirements

  • Minimum age 18 years old

  • Associate degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year College or technical school; or 6 months to 1-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos
  • Ability to write simple correspondence
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other associates of the organization
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs
  • Ability to define problems, collects data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
  • Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations
  • Requires strong interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently
  • Intermediate skills using MS Office Excel, Power Point, and Word
  • Position will be required to comply with the CCBCU Personal Protective Equipment Program.
  • Position is required to wear safety toed shoes when performing the following tasks: Operating Powered Industrial Equipment or Working in an Area where Powered Industrial Equipment is in use, Fleet Maintenance, Working with Palletized Product, Use of Hand Trucks/Dollies to Deliver Product, Cooler Services, etc.
