About The Position

NX Automotive Logistics is looking for a production/warehouse dispatcher. The Operations Departments operate in a warehouse or manufacturing environment and associates are subject to moderate amounts of dust, dirt, and odors, primarily produced by packaging materials and the operation of propane-powered forklifts as well as noise primarily produced by production equipment. Temperatures during the year will vary. Frequently operate a computer, read, write and interact with others in person, over the phone and via other devices. They move about within the facility and may travel to other locations.

Requirements

  • Previous Dispatcher Coordinator experience is preferred.
  • Possess knowledge of warehousing and transportation functions.
  • Must have timely and effective communication skills to communicate with management, associates, drivers/carriers, and customers.
  • Microsoft Office proficient, intermediate computer skills.
  • Knowledge of SAP and YSP “Yard Management System” is preferable.
  • Demonstrate strong problem-solving skills and verbal/written communication skills.
  • Reliable and dependable.
  • Flexible to perform other job functions.
  • Work additional hours, if necessary, to complete daily tasks and meet customer/business needs and demands.
  • Ability to work flexible hours and or shifts to accommodate business needs.

Responsibilities

  • Schedule, monitor and communicate yard trailer movements, including empty and loaded trailers to various locations from in/out of the warehouse via SAP.
  • Maintain all Trailer Tracking Logs.
  • Assign trailer movements to the yard management contractors via SAP.
  • Assign hourly scheduled outbound loads (Bordero’s) to the loaders, complete the trailers systematically in SAP, update order/trailer status and identify empty carrier trailers needed for future scheduled loads.
  • Create PTAs (Premium Transportation Authorizations) via SAP system and prepare the necessary documentation and communication to fulfill these high priority “rush” order movements.
  • Provide support to truck drivers by assisting them with necessary documentation to retrieve completed loads, validating carriers, pick-up numbers, BOLs (Bill of Ladings), driver signatures and log information.
  • Review internal and external emails, manage paperwork, scan all necessary freight information and logs, and perform order and shipment research as required.
  • Monitor the progress of outgoing shipments and provide support by escalating issues related to outbound order completion, trailer availability, and other issues that may arise.
  • Utilize email, 2-way radio communication, and company cell phones to ensure effective communication with Leadership, Yard Drivers, Carriers, Dispatch team, third-parties representatives, and the customer.
  • Maintain a high-level performance in all functional areas to meet customer requirements, expectations, and avoid any negative impact to Key Performance Indicators (KPI).
  • Comply with all company policies and procedures.
  • This position will require cross-training in multiple dispatcher roles (Inbound/Outbound) and flexibility to move between those roles as assigned or as the need arises.
  • Perform other duties within the operation as needed.
