About The Position

We're looking for a Dispatcher to join our operations team at Excel Courier! In this role, you'll organize and monitor daily on-call and scheduled work, route vehicle jobs, and maintain quality control to ensure on-time delivery performance. Requirements

• Strong knowledge of the Washington D.C. metropolitan area, Baltimore, and Richmond
• Ability to read a map and evaluate routes effectively
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-stress environment
• Prior experience dispatching and routing on-call courier work
• Knowledge of Washington D.C. metropolitan area as well as Baltimore, Richmond.
• Ability to read a map and evaluate routes.
• Successful completion of all required pre-employment screenings, onboarding requirements, and mandatory training programs, including background screening, drug screening, credit check, HIPAA training, TSA training, and other company-required certifications.

Nice To Haves

• Current shift in support of 24/7/365 operations is Sunday - Thursday 07:00 to 19:00 - Training will occur Monday - Friday 08:00 17:00

Responsibilities

• Use Xcelerator software to dispatch and track deliveries
• Communicate with drivers via radio and phone, monitoring GPS tracking
• Monitor jobs for all customers and ensure on-time performance
• Monitor email, website portals, and fax machine for incoming orders
• Coordinate with customer service team and support new customer training
