About The Position
The Dispatch Operator dispatches appropriate ambulance and NET unit based on call information provided. The Dispatch Operator works 12 hour shifts on a rotating schedule.
Requirements
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required
- Ability to multitask and make quick decisions in a busy work environment
- General knowledge of cities and locations of highways within Georgia
- Experience in customer service and answering multiple phone lines simultaneously
Nice To Haves
- EMS, Dispatcher and/or CAD experience is preferred
Responsibilities
- Effectively prioritize incoming ambulance and NET call requests
- Operate multiple incoming cellular and land telephone lines
- Use CAD System to dispatch ambulances and NET units
- Monitor the movement and availability of ambulance and NET units
- Communicate clearly and effectively with all Field & Operations personnel
- Accurately document all conversation details related to calls, dispatches, and messages
- Troubleshoots mechanical/situational problems
- Contact Dispatch Supervisor, COO, and Fleet Manager as appropriate.
- Perform accurate basic data entry
- Performs other related duties as assigned by management.
