The Dispatch Manager will be responsible for strategic oversight, long-term planning, and departmental performance. This role involves workflow optimization, carrier allocation strategy, vendor relations, and technology adoption. The Dispatch Manager will establish KPIs, safety protocols, and ensure SOP compliance. They will handle macro vendor/carrier disputes, departmental budgets, and cross-functional alignment. This position involves mentoring and evaluating supervisors, managing a team of dispatches, and handling overall staffing strategy and hiring. The Dispatch Manager will serve as direct contact with Key Customers, and as an escalation point for Security and Stakeholders (internal and external). Responsibilities include monitoring appointment stability metrics for receivers and escalating any receiver issues to Key Account Management, ensuring timely and accurate cost accrual, invoice processing, and billing to customers. The role requires reporting and monitoring shipments irregularities in SEMS (Shipment Exemption Management System) and driving cost reductions by improving truck utilization and route optimization (consolidation). The Dispatch Manager will be the point of contact for all escalation delivery problems for truckers and finding resolutions. This role works closely with the Domestic Transportation Team on trucking service procurement, carrier QBR, domestic trucking RFQs, and ad hoc pricing requests. The position requires forming strong partnerships with carriers, monitoring and recording carrier performance (Scorecard), and adherence to MEC pick up, in-transit, and delivery procedures. Collaboration with security on enhancing load security and coordinating escorts for high value shipments are also key responsibilities. Other duties as assigned by management.
