The Dispatch & Customer Service Representative coordinates timely concrete deliveries from plant locations to job sites according to customer requests and expectations, using efficient and cost-effective processes. The position uses computerized dispatching to assign company trucks and tender loads to outside trucking companies. It receives and enters customer orders, clarifies delivery requirements, suggests value-added products, and advises customers of potential order issues. It also schedules and monitors mixer trucks, creates delivery tickets, communicates regularly with drivers and operations personnel, adjusts schedules, and coordinates equipment and personnel with remote dispatch offices. Regular attendance and physical presence at an office or jobsite are essential unless the employee was specifically hired to work remotely. Additional duties may be assigned to meet business needs. The role is based in a professional, climate-controlled office environment and may involve extended viewing of a CRT screen, long hours when business needs require, and possible early-morning start times depending on season or weather. Customer contact may involve stressful situations. Physical requirements include frequent radio and phone communication, extended sitting, occasional standing and other movements, frequent keyboard use, and specific visual abilities.
