About The Position

Wilhelmsen Ships Service is seeking a Dispatch Coordinator for their Pasadena office. This role is crucial for ensuring that goods from the Warehouse Department are delivered by drivers to the correct addresses within specified time limits, in appropriate condition, with the correct documents, and at the appropriate cost. The ideal candidate will be flexible, a team player, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements

Ability to communicate on all levels
Ability to work in a team and on own initiatives
Good command of written and spoken English
Good knowledge of and experience within worldwide transportation methods and requirements
Good knowledge of Dangerous Goods transportation regulations in all transport modes
In depth familiarity and knowledge of transportation rules and regulations
Ability to work outside normal business working hours

Nice To Haves

Dangerous Good Certification
Maritime experience
Systematic, organized and accurate
Good knowledge of products carried

Responsibilities

Update all ETA’s through consistent monitoring with agents
Schedule drivers
Monitor the efficiency of the dispatch operations and driver utilization
Ensure that transport is done in an efficient and cost effective way in line with demand
Ensure compliance to all rules and regulations
Responsible for correct document flow, reporting and tracking
Report and take action to ensure professional and timely deliveries
Keep delivery trucks maintained to appropriate standards, rules and regulations, including placard, certificates, etc.
