About The Position

Are you ready to kick off your legal career in the entertainment industry? Join the Disney Entertainment Television Legal Affairs team and gain hands-on legal experience in connection with groundbreaking scripted and unscripted series, ABC News, Disney+ and Hulu, as well as the Networks Team and our Owned Television Station Group. As an intern, you'll support a dynamic legal team across development, production, marketing and promotion of television content, and contribute to high-profile projects that shape the future of entertainment. This is a unique opportunity that exposes you to legal teams that support television production and strategy across our various linear, streaming and digital platforms (Disney+, Hulu, ABC Network, FX, Disney Channel), making it an ideal launchpad for your legal career in media and entertainment! This is a full-time internship, from June through August 2026. If selected for this role, you will report to a Lead Counsel at the Disney Entertainment Television.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated organizational abilities with proven capacity to manage multiple tasks and priorities efficiently
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Maintains a high degree of professionalism, discretion, and integrity in managing confidential information
  • Adept at working independently while recognizing appropriate opportunities to seek guidance
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
  • Currently enrolled at an accredited law school and legally eligible to work in the U.S.
  • Completion of one or more years of law school in a current JD program at the start of the internship
  • Be enrolled in an accredited law school pursuing a degree taking at least one class at time of application OR currently participating in a Disney College Program or Disney Internship.
  • Current Disney Interns, College, International, or Culinary Program Participants: You may only work for ONE consecutive year (12 months) in any combination of an internship and/or program.
  • Be at least 18 years of age
  • Possess unrestricted work authorization
  • Able to have a consistent, reliable work schedule throughout the internship
  • The approximate dates of this internship are June 1, 2026, through August 7, 2026
  • Able to work 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, 9am - 6pm PST
  • Able to provide own housing for the duration internship program in the Burbank, CA
  • Able to provide/have reliable transportation to/from work

Nice To Haves

  • Prior internship or work experience at a law firm, enabling them to start quickly and contribute effectively.
  • Contracting and drafting experience, which supports legal tasks and documentation.
  • Demonstrated interest in in entertainment law, copyright, Intellectual property (IP), regulatory or administrative law, or contract drafting courses (relevant course work is a plus).

Responsibilities

  • drafting producing, acting, writing and development agreements
  • assignments in pre-publication vetting, newsgathering, compliance matters, technology support
  • sit in on production legal kickoff calls, department meetings and marketing task force meetings
  • assist with research projects between different departments
