About the Role & Program Disney Consumer Products (DCP) brings the magic of Disney’s beloved stories, franchises, and characters to families and fans around the world. From toys to apparel, books to games, our global marketing organization profoundly impacts The Walt Disney Company and the international markets in which we operate. With a portfolio of world-class franchises including Disney, Pixar, Marvel, 20th Century Fox, National Geographic, and Star Wars, we are a worldwide industry and category leader delivering innovative products that entertain and inspire! The Sustainable Materials Sourcing intern will assist the team with various projects and tasks related to sourcing sustainable materials to achieve The Walt Disney Company’s (TWDC) 2030 Sustainability Material Goals. Key objectives will include assisting with the physical and digital libraries for textiles and trims, creating sustainability resources for the organization, and supporting Sourcing strategies to achieve more sustainable and traceable products. This internship is a full-time, six-month commitment in the Orlando, FL area from June 2026 to January 2027.

Requirements

  • Passion for retail and sustainability
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, detail-oriented
  • Ability to manage multiple assignments and deliverables simultaneously; works well under tight deadlines
  • Schedule flexibility to accommodate global time zones
  • Be enrolled in an accredited college/university pursuing a degree, taking at least one class at the time of application posting, OR currently participating in a Disney College Program or Disney Internship
  • Have not completed one year of continual employment on a Disney Internship or Disney College Program
  • Be at least 18 years of age
  • Possess unrestricted work authorization
  • Be compliant with The Disney Look appearance guidelines while at work
  • Must have the ability to work full-time hours (approximately 40 per week) Monday - Friday, for the duration of the internship
  • Being able to provide one's own housing and reliable transportation to/from work is required

Nice To Haves

  • Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) software system is a plus
  • Junior or senior preferred
  • Major or previous coursework in Materials Science, Merchandising, Product Development, Textiles, or a related field
  • Limited housing opportunities may be available for Florida-based Disney Interns through American Campus Communities.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate collaborative material reviews and approvals with cross-functional stakeholders, primarily textiles
  • Create and organize physical and digital library entries for textiles, trims, and labels
  • Create, track, and communicate requests in the product lifecycle management system to Suppliers
  • Build and maintain reports and presentations on fabric consumption, development reporting, and progress towards sustainability goals
  • Improve data integrity through review of PLM inputs
  • Learn the role of Sustainable Materials Sourcing and how it relates to Disney Global Merchandise & Sourcing Development in textile-based products such as Home, Apparel, and Accessories Categories
  • Gain knowledge of the garment, sample, and fabric development process
  • Special Projects that support The Walt Disney Company’s 2030 Sustainability Goals
