About The Position

The Dishwasher is responsible for keeping the restaurant clean inside and out and ensuring that items are cleaned and sanitized to the highest standards. The role includes washing dishes and kitchen equipment, maintaining the dish machine, cleaning throughout the shift, completing assigned preparation and opening or closing duties, and supporting fellow employees as needed. The position requires working safely in a damp, high-temperature environment, handling hot and sharp items, and completing and passing the required food safety certification program.

Requirements

• Able to stand and walk for 100% of the shift.
• Able to reach, bend, and stoop.
• Able to immerse hands frequently in water diluted with chemical solutions.
• Ability to speak, read, and write English.
• Able to lift up to 50 pounds several times per shift and place heavy loads on high shelves and in coolers or freezers.
• Able to work in a damp, high-temperature environment indoors and minimally outdoors.
• Able to work safely with hot plates, pots, and pans.
• Able to work safely with sharp knives and utensils.
• Must complete and pass the food safety certification program.

Responsibilities

• Follow all company safety and sanitation policies and procedural training.
• Wash and provide clean, sanitized plateware, glassware, silverware, pots, pans, and kitchen utensils in accordance with Flanigan’s sanitation policies.
• Clean and sanitize throughout the shift.
• Maintain kitchen cleanliness, including sweeping, mopping, and removing debris from the floor.
• Perform assigned prep work, opening and closing duties, and beautification duties.
• Prepare and maintain the dish machine at opening, during business hours, and at closing.
• Support fellow employees as needed.
• Complete and pass the food safety certification program in compliance with Flanigan’s requirements and Florida statutes.
