About The Position

Alisal, a luxury 10,500-acre working Ranch and Resort in the heart of Santa Barbara Wine Country, is seeking an experienced, service-oriented Dishwasher for the Ranch Room. The position involves operating and maintaining cleaning equipment and tools; washing and disinfecting kitchen and storeroom areas, tables, tools, knives, and equipment; receiving deliveries; properly storing perishables and rotating stock; and ensuring clean wares are stored in appropriate areas. The Dishwasher cleans dishes using detergent, rinsing, and sanitizing chemicals in a three-compartment sink; inspects, pulls, and stacks cleaned items; returns soiled items for re-scrubbing and re-washing; racks and sprays items with hot water to remove food residue; and sorts, soaks, and washes silverware. The role also includes breaking down dirty bus tubs and cardboard boxes, maintaining trashcans and the dumpster area, cleaning and mopping assigned areas, and disposing of glass and recyclables appropriately. The employee follows company, safety, and security policies and procedures; reports maintenance needs, accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions to a manager; completes safety training and certifications; protects company assets; maintains positive working relationships; supports team goals; and meets quality expectations and standards. This is an onsite role requiring continuous movement during the shift, work in varying indoor and outdoor temperatures, and availability for varying schedules, including weekends and holidays.

Requirements

Prior cleaning or kitchen experience is a plus.
Ability to lift, push, and pull a minimum of 50 pounds.
Ability to work onsite and to stand, sit, walk, and move continuously for the duration of a shift.
Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying temperatures.
Open availability for varying schedules, including weekends and holidays.
Must present proof of identity and legal authorization to work in the United States after an offer and before employment.

Responsibilities

Operate and maintain the dishwashing machine, hand-washing stations, pot-scrubbing station, trash compactor, and other cleaning tools.
Wash and disinfect kitchen and storeroom areas, tables, tools, knives, and equipment.
Receive deliveries, store perishables properly, rotate stock, and store clean wares in appropriate areas.
Clean dishes with detergent, rinsing, and sanitizing chemicals in the three-compartment sink.
Inspect, pull, and stack cleaned items; return soiled items for re-scrubbing and re-washing.
Rack and spray items with hot water to loosen and remove food residue.
Sort, soak, wash, and re-wash silverware.
Break down dirty bus tubs and cardboard boxes.
Empty and maintain trashcans and the dumpster area; dispose of glass in proper containers and place cardboard and other recyclables in recycle bins.
Clean and mop all areas in assigned departments.
Follow company, safety, and security policies and procedures; complete safety training and certifications.
Report maintenance needs, accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions to a manager.
Protect company assets, maintain positive working relationships, support team goals, and meet quality expectations and standards.
