About The Position

This is a part-time, non-benefited student position in Wilkerson Commons. Only UND students are eligible to be hired. The dishwasher supports Dining Services by cleaning and sanitizing dishes, equipment, and the dish room while providing excellent customer service. The role requires following food safety and sanitation requirements and working in the temperatures associated with dish machine operations. The position pays $15.00 per hour and is scheduled for 10–20 hours per week.

Requirements

Must be a UND student.
Ability to stand for 3–4 hours.
Ability to follow instructions.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Ability to handle and prepare meat products in a commercial kitchen.
Comply with food safety and sanitation requirements, including removing jewelry and wearing a hairnet.
Ability to move 35–50 pounds.
Ability to work in various temperatures associated with dish machine operations.

Responsibilities

Scrub pots and pans and load dishes onto the dish machine.
Sort, wash, and return dishes, silverware, trays, and pans to designated storage areas.
Check dishes, silverware, trays, and pans to ensure they are properly cleaned.
Operate the dish machine according to instructions.
Sweep and mop as needed.
Provide excellent customer service.
Maintain a clean and sanitary dish room.
Keep tray return areas and dish carts clean.
Clean the conveyor belt daily.
Remove garbage from the dish room and rinse and sanitize garbage cans.
Perform other duties as assigned.
